Oak Is The Waiting Tree, A Retreat to Old Field Point & The Legend of A Saving Grace

Our luxury escape to this dreamy lodge sitting high above the Elk River at the head of the Chesapeake Bay often begs due reverence for the river itself, the magic and wonder of water purely present and in ever-motion. But what of the trees?! The gardens, the grounds which have been rewilding now for 7 years! And a story to tell of a savior Oak at the center of it all!

“Out on the hill, the old Oak still stands:
stag-headed, fire-struck, bare-crowned,

stubbornly holding its ground.

Poplar is the whispering tree,
Rowan is the sheltering tree,

Willow is the weeping tree –

and Oak is the waiting tree.”

Oh to honor the trees and our own resemblance in stature, stability, reach, resilience, connection and growth! We’ll learn of secrets twisted round in the roots, grow taller in our limbs lifted to the ether and practice the endurance of a community of women who help, protect and heal each other. Treehouse dreams, the ancient heat of bonfire, meandering and deep earthen practices for grounding and peace will keep us present for one of the most powerful shifts in the year. This 4 day/3 night retreat promises yoga, meditation, swimming, ceremony, fables and Celtic Tree lore. All curriculum, materials, lodging and sumptuous harvest meals are included. 4 Private rooms are available at $1036. 6 shared rooms are available at $960. All Saints & Witches, A Samhain Soiree Holy Day Retreat

This will be the last retreat of 2026, in the full format of previous day retreats and in the Spirit of December gatherings past. A last HUZZAH in the year of the Fire Horse will involve a bit of forensics to decipher the antics and alignments during a year gone mad. Recapping isn’t always helpful, but if we take a good hard look at what’s come before, we may feel and focus our wayfinding into the next passages with heightened awareness and clarity of interior motivations and truths.
This final retreat promises to illuminate the ways each of us weave the holy and “wicked” fibers of our lives in the intricate patterns which serve our high hearts and the greater good. We mark the crossroads with Hecate and prepare our pathwork towards the Solstice holiday in the company of women we love, in the comfort of our Bethel Road home. The full cost of retreat is $244 which includes yoga, ceremony, all programming, welcome noshes, Luncheon feast by Tara Young, craft supplies & materials.
